“And He looked around to see the woman who had done this.” (Mark 5:32)
A big crowd gathered around the Lord Jesus, everyone pushing close to see Him. In that crowd was a woman who had been sick for twelve long years. She had tried many doctors and spent all her money, but nothing worked. Still, she believed something amazing: “If I can just touch Jesus’ clothes, I will be healed.”
So, she reached out quietly… and she was healed right away.
She could have slipped away without anyone noticing. But, Jesus stopped in His tracks. He looked around, and asked, “Who touched Me?”
Why did He do that?
Jesus wanted to find her. He didn’t just want to heal her body—He wanted to know her heart, and her to know His.
The woman came forward, shaking with fear, and told Jesus everything. Instead of scolding her, Jesus spoke kindly: “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”
She came as a stranger, but left loved and known.
Sometimes, we are like that woman. We pray when we need help—maybe before a test, when we’re scared, or when someone is sick. And God, in His kindness, helps us. But after that… do we simply walk away?
Jesus is still looking for us today—not to scold us, but to have a relationship with us. He wants us to talk to Him, share our feelings, and spend time with Him everyday.
He isn't a God who only answers prayers, He is a God who wants us to be seen and touched by Him.
